Lovely Zoe!

Another fellow blogger and illustrator friend of mine is Zoe Waring! Her style of illustration really appeals to me its fresh fun and just lovely! I met Zoe whilst studying graphic design at Teesside University, she was the year above me, I remember she produced some beautiful children's book illustrations! You can follow Zoe and her work at her blog zoethedoodler.blogspot.com.

Talented Taylor!

Rachael Taylor is a very talented and successful surface pattern designer and also my very good friend! We met a few years back now, while working together at Hallmark cards. We clicked straight away and got on like two crazies together!! I haven't been able to get rid of her since!!!! (joking Rach!) Watch out for Rachael as she is slowly taking over the world with her wonderful patterns. You can find her all over the net at the moment. Follow her on twitter, visit her blog and check out her designs at www.rachaeltaylordesigns.co.uk. I have samples of Rachael's work dotted all over my house. She produces a range of products to buy online including tea towels, cards mugs etc.

Sunny september weekend!

So having spent all last week at work with only the daylight bulbs instead of real sunshine I was very smiley that the sun came out at the weekend! I travelled up to the North East to my parents where we had fun in the sun at a lovely country show filled with horses, classic cars and alpacas!!

My work family!

I thought i'd introduce you to my little work family, there maybe only a few of us but together we are mighty!!! Well there are a few more than that but 'Guess Who' is mainly men with beards!! (there are no beards at my work!!!)
'The coffee run' one of the most scary moments of my day at work!!! We each take it in turns to make a round. Not only do you have to remember who's mug is who's and match it with de-caf, earl gray, black coffee or the half milk half tea etc... you also have to carry the tray of 9 full mugs through the studio, then through a set of double doors that don't push! I've been told several times there is a method which involves the little finger pull and foot wedge but each time I manage to just stand with my face against the glass with a look of fear on my face! I only choose to offer my services when everyone is on holiday, 3 mugs i can manage, just!!!

Print and Pattern

One of the most visited daily blogs by me and many of my friends is Print and Pattern. Its an amazing blog by a very talented designer who has recently made a book from the site. I was lucky enough to have my work featured and for me it was very special to have my work published in a book for the first time. (big smiles!!!)

My first blog!

Well hello there!!
I don't really know how to start..........erm let me think!!!
I'm new to the world of blogging so bear with me as I will probably just talk nonsense for the first few blogs! Just stick with me and I'm sure I'll get it together!!
I read a lot of design blogs on my lunch hour at work and thought i would share my strange and quirky views of my world with you all! I'm a designer/illustrator and have been working in the greetings card industry for over 6 years now. I'm happy to say i love my job, I feel lucky that i get to do what I've been doing since i was old enough to chew the tops of felt tip pens and get paid for it!! My dad had always told me growing up, that I'd never get a job gluing and sticking, well dads don't always know it all!!!
